CLASS LEVELS
Level 1 (Beginners/Foundation) Learn the basics of reformer Pilates including how to set up your equipment for success, safe positioning for exercises in all positions, and a run through of the common exercises. Challenge your mind, muscles, joints and improve spatial awareness to prevent injury and move better. Everyone is different, so please chat to your instructor if you think you are ready to move up a level.
All Levels Reformer (Good for every body & everyone) This class is suitable for everyone at all practise levels. Modifications for the different skill levels will be used but be prepared to test your co-ordination, agility, strength, stability, endurance and balance. This class is also suitable for participants who wish to transition to an advanced class. Clients brand new to Pilates should start with a standard Level 1 Beginner class for 4-8 weeks before entering an All Levels class to ensure you can correctly set up your reformer and hold neutral position effectively to suit your posture and height.
Level 2 (Intermediate) Challenge your co-ordination, stability, agility and strength. The ability to perform a full plank is beneficial but exercise modifications for different skill levels will be given.
Level 3 (Advanced) A class suitable for participants who have physically demonstrated a sound understanding of the Basic Principles and are more physically active. Higher choreographed exercises are chosen to challenge your co-ordination, stability, balance, endurance, strength and speed. Prerequisites are a minimum of 8 Level 2 classes or equivalent Pilates reformer experience.
Cardio Reformer (All Levels) Get your heart rate up on the reformer and challenge your core, joint stability and muscle endurance using the jumpboard. This All Levels class is safe for everyone. Work at your own pace and reduce the spring tension to float like a butterfly or increase them for more joint challenge. Pelvic floor issues or experiencing incontinence? You can still jump safely on your back so this class is safe for you!
Prenatal Reformer (All Levels) This is a specialised reformer Pilates class for the Prenatal and Postnatal client to maintain strength and stability, while preparing for and recovering from birth and beyond. Appropriate modifications are applied for different stages of your pregnancy. Start in your first trimester to stay fit and strong. Continue into your third trimester to prepare for birth and lifting your new baby. Continue after the birth to aid recovery of pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. We encourage all clients to attend at least 1x 1:1 Clinical Pilates session before commencing the Pre/Postnatal class.
Private Health Insurance: Please note that group reformer classes may not be eligible for private health rebates. Always check with your individual health fund to see if these classes qualify for rebates as gym memberships. From 1st April 2019 only Pilates classes run by a physiotherapist will be claimable.
